NetworkNewsBreaks – EVIO, Inc. (EVIO) Posts Fiscal Q2 2018 Financial Results

EVIO, Inc. (OTCQB: EVIO), a leading provider of cannabis testing and scientific research for the regulated cannabis industry, this morning announced financial and operating results for the quarter and six months ended March 31, 2018. Among other highlights, the company reported revenue for the second quarter of $732,311, a decrease of $56,415 or 12.1% from the second quarter last year. Revenue from the six months ending March 31, 2018, however, was $1,679,176, an increase of $177,997 or 11.9% from the same period in 2017. “EVIO’s second quarter focused greatly on broadening the company’s portfolio. With our recent private placement of $5.973 million, we expanded the company’s footprint by acquiring additional labs, namely in California, a market that we have identified as having unparalleled potential,” EVIO CEO William Waldrop stated in the news release. “We expect the state of California to enforce mandated compliance testing by July 1, 2018. With operational facilities in both Humboldt and Berkeley and the goal of further expansion into the state, we feel like EVIO is well-positioned to meet California’s demand for cannabis testing. Another significant milestone was our entrance into the Canadian market and launched EVIO Canada with the acquisition of Keystone Labs ahead of the country’s legalization of adult recreational use this summer.”

Oct 22, 2018

Rae Carruth is a free man. The former NFL wide receiver was released from prison Monday after serving more than 18 years for conspiring to murder the mother of his unborn child. The Carolina Panthers' 1997 first-round draft pick was released from Sampson Correctional Institution in Clinton, North Carolina, after completing his sentence of 18 to 24 years. Carruth did not speak to reporters on as he left the prison wearing a knit cap and an unzipped jacket on a chilly morning with temperatures in the high 30s. There was a smattering of applause as Carruth got into a white...

With Messi out, Coutinho, Dembele must step up for Barcelona

Oct 22, 2018

BARCELONA, Spain — With Lionel Messi out with a broken arm, the two most expensive signings in Barcelona's history have a perfect opportunity to step up and show their value. Barcelona spent more than 300 million euros ($350 million) to sign Brazil midfielder Philippe Coutinho and France forward Ousmane Dembele last season as it reinvested the money — and then some — from Neymar's move to Paris Saint-Germain. While both Coutinho and Dembele have shown several flashes of their world-class talent, neither has fully met the huge expectations that inevitably accompanied their price tags. Messi set up Coutinho to net...

Cora has put players 1st during Red Sox run to World Series

Oct 22, 2018

BOSTON — When Alex Cora was hired to manage the Red Sox a year ago, he knew he wanted to put relationships with his players first. It made him a success as general manager of Puerto Rico in the 2017 World Baseball Classic, again as a GM and manager in the Puerto Rican Winter League and as bench coach for the Houston Astros during their World Series title run last season. Cora was toting those lessons with him when he arrived at spring training to find a talented, young Boston team in need of a new voice following back-to-back early...

Borrego: Hiring female coaches shows NBA trending right way

Oct 22, 2018

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver wants more women throughout the league. He's getting his wish. In recent days, two significant moves were made, with Kristi Toliver being added to Washington's staff of assistant coaches, and Chasity Melvin getting hired as an assistant coach with Charlotte's G League affiliate in Greensboro, North Carolina. Those hires are signs of progress. Few seemed to notice, which also is not all bad. Women are a becoming a bigger part of the league now than ever before. The hires of Toliver and Melvin were not overlooked; it just no longer seems like such an unusual thing...

Chiefs celebrating blowout of Bengals, impressive 6-1 start

Oct 22, 2018

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It's hard to tell these days what's more entertaining to watch: Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs' high-flying offense or their crazy, creative touchdown celebrations. Opposing teams are getting a heavy dose of both. The latest victim was the Cincinnati Bengals, who watched Mahomes torch their banged-up defense for 358 yards and four touchdowns in a 45-10 Chiefs victory Sunday night. Kareem Hunt added three touchdowns, Tyreek Hill and Demetrius Harris also scored and Kansas City rolled up 551 yards total offense in the rout. "We have an amazing time. It's always fun when you're...
