Beauty Engineered Simply…

December 5, 2019 /MarketersMedia/ —

Nicholas Hemingway’s start-up design company nicholashemingway.com, says forget disposable culture, value your design tools and enjoy the lifelong companionship of a custom- made pen. Made to order, these hand-crafted tools are rugged and hard-wearing yet elegant, and will become your everlasting companion in design.

Perfect for writers, designers, architects and those who simply enjoy the detail and focus that only a precision made pen can bring. With a Kickstarter campaign already drawing in over
£12,000, Hemingway hopes the volume of orders and pledges will mean he can expand his business, and with a commitment to minimal, environmentally friendly packaging, he hopes these pencils will help combat the throwaway mentality of the modern world.

Made to be perfectly balanced out of solid stainless steel and incorporating a beautiful aluminium case, Nicholas Hemingway says: “These mechanical pencils are built to last but they have an aesthetic quality to them too – It feels good in your hand, it feels great to write with, and to draw with. It would make the perfect gift or be a valuable addition to any set of tools.”

Hemingway, a distant relation of the writer Ernest Hemingway, came to love the blend of science and artistry as a child, when he often witnessed his grandfather, Philip Hemingway, working away at his desk, as an engineer, draughtsman and horologist. His great-grandfather, William Hemingway, was a civil engineer in Victorian times – so the family has rich streams of creativity and knowledge flowing through it for centuries.

Perhaps the easiest place to find inspiration, was in his own family … “My aim is to put down on paper what I see and what I feel in the best and simplest way.” - Ernest Hemingway.
